Question:

Where did our Neon Fish go?

We have 30 gallon tank with three Cory Catfish, a medium Blue Rainbow fish, a small Bala Shark, three guppies, four Scissortails, a Black Molly and 5 Neon Tetras. Tank cycled months back and despite a few causalities we've had a great time getting it running and stocked.

YET, we started with a school of 7 Tetras and one day we noticed one was missing. Then this morning we realized another was simply gone. Our tank conditions check out as fine and we've done a thorough search both times and did not find the missing fish or a body.

So we'll ask a probably naive question-Did our other fish eat the bodies?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Bala Shark will eat small fish... besides the fact that Bala Sharks get to big for a 30 gallon tank.

  2. ive had the same problem. if your other fish ate it you would know because tetras are poisonous and will make the other fish sick after they eat them

  3. CHECK THE FILTER THEY PROBABLE GOT SUCKED TO IT.

  4. the cory catfish probably ate it and catfish can eat almost any thing and not be affected by the poision
