Who exactly is Dracula?

I was reading a few other questions, and someone answered to a post that it was a myth created from mentally deranged people who drank the blood of servants...

I want to know the whole story,

How many were there?

Where did they start? (Place)

Evidence?

  2. Vampires and Dracula did not originate from the same mythology. The idea of evil undead walking the night and drinking blood arose long before Dracula. The idea of vampires arose from grave robbers opening coffins, and find the corpse perfectly preserved with blood dried around the mouth.

  3. Dracula was real. His real name was Vlad Dracula, sometimes called Vlad the Impaler, and he was a 15th Century Romanian Prince who lived in Transylvania. There are several stories surrounding his activities. The story that I am most familiar with is during battles he would go around drinking blood of dead and wounded soldiers. However there are other stories about his reign as prince.

  4. The vampire myth originated in Eastern Europe.

Read up on Erzsébet Báthory and Vlad the Impaler.
