  1. According to the Book of Mormon, the Nephites are a people descended from or associated with Nephi, a prophet who, according to the text, left Jerusalem at the urging of God in 600 BC and traveled with his family to the Western Hemisphere, arriving in the Americas circa 589 BC. Mormon scholars believe that they settled somewhere in Central America after fleeing their homeland.[citation needed] The Book of Mormon describes the Nephites as an initially righteous people, who eventually fell into wickedness and were utterly destroyed by their brothers the Lamanites circa AD 385. The existence of the Nephites is not generally accepted by non-LDS historians or archaeologists.

    I hope it helps!

  2. They didn't, it's like asking where the Elves of Middle Earth live now.

The original stance of the church was that BOTH North and South America were the lands where they lived.

Both the Church and FARMS have backpedaled on the claim and they're very disinclined to actually come out and claim a particular locale.

  3. ah, a Lord of the Rings question.

They lived right next to the Dwarfs in the higher parts of the mountains

  4. In the Book of Mormon!
