MEXICO! Another reason why we should have a better U.S. guest-worker program so more US farms don't move to the other side of the border. What do you think?

  1. I'm all for a better guest worker program but not until the following condition has been met. ALL 20-30 million undocumented immigrants must immediately leave this country and NEVER return, then and only then should we reinstate the old bracero program.

  2. From mexico and that has nothing to do with a guest worker program it has to do with lack of hand washing.

  3. From FREAKING Mexico,

Salmonella is coming from Mexican vegetable....

Over there they try to keep everything low cost to make some profit. Can you Imagine what do they put in the ground?

I heard about Human waste and urin,

We do not have to be surprised if this then is the result.

  4. ok first...they may not maintain the same standards as us where food is concerned but to simply say they don't wash their hands is generalizing...besides the contaminate was found in the irrigation water...which leads me to believe there is most likely some sort of (illegal..i don't know) dumping being done to the area water...in the end yes it effects us but it makes you wonder are the people in that area that use the water getting sick...i personally also enjoy buying local or growing my own veggies & fruits...i think with the current relations we have with Mexico...i wouldn't be surprised at a lack luster effort on their behalf to make sure that anything we obtain from them is up to our standards...so...please continue to treat those immigrants poorly & expect that they will not spit in the food...it is that arrogance that will bite you in the end

  5. The salmonella strain linked to a nationwide outbreak has been found in irrigation water and a serrano pepper at a Mexican farm.

  6. We have 20 million uninvited guest workers already, so I don't think we need any more. We should be using prison labor and more machines in farming, and also make sure a higher percentage of legal immigrants come here to do farm work.

    Perhaps the peppers immigrated illegally!

  7. South of the border....

what I mean by south of the border is south of the border from Canada ......

  8. I wish I had more opprotunity to buy locally.  I do go to the farmer's market about once a week.  I get alot of good stuff there, but everything is seasonal (of course).  I think I'm going to have to get a big deep freeze and buy in bulk to get much of a variety going.  I don't think I'd have a very sucessful garden if I had one. My plastic flowers die even.

  9. can the united states leave mexico alone for one single day? and yes mexicans that work there wash there hands!. so dont p**s me off

  10. From mexico where people do not wash their hands.

I really wish someone would sue Bush for these disease outbreaks.
