Where did the name "wacker" referring to a jacket, come from?

  1. It came from the cattle rustlers who used to sleep on the ground at night and a lot of dust would get all over their clothing so in the morning they'd wack their jackets with a stick to get dust and any mosquitoes or any creepy crawlies out. We call guys wackers in Australia which just means like a wanker or jerk etc.
