Question:

Where did the phrase "Bobby Spit on Me" come from?

I saw it on a bumper sticker - but I'm not sure of the phrase's significance. I have been looking around about it and the only thing that came up more than once related to the grateful dead. What does it exactly mean? and where did the phrase come from?

Thanks!

  1. Ha!  I used to have that bumper sticker on MY car years ago!   You guys are right.  If you ever see Bobby play up close he spits everywhere when he sings!

I ended up covering that one up with one that said "Make Bobby Shave"

  2. I'm not sure either, but Bob Weir was a member of the Grateful Dead. Weir sometimes had 'unconventional' ways of singing some of his songs so maybe it meant that people in the first couple of rows were accidentally spit on while he was singing?
