Where did these termites come from?

I had some 2x3's sitting outside in the ivy for a few weeks, then I brought them back into the basement to build a work bench. The bench has been up for over a week and I have seen two termites running around on it. I killed them both but Im sure there are more. I have lived in this house a long time and never saw one termite, do you think they came in with the 2x3's? what should I do now?

Terminates live in the ground, and may have come in with the wood.

However, you don't see termites in or on the house until there is wood damage.  I would call a bug guy and have them check things out.
