Me and my twin brother BOTH have red hair, and we have fair skin and blue eyes and freckles.

Red hair: totally unknown where it came from! My dad and my aunt HAD red hair but it grew out and turned to brown.

Blue eyes: Most EVERYONE has brown eyes in my family, except my mom's two brothers.

Freckles: Kind of everywhere!

Fair skin: 98% of my entire family TANS!

So, can someone help me, here?

P.S.

I am NOT adopted, and neither is my twin brother

  1. Both your parents had the recessive Red Hair gene

and your parents also had Bb which is Brown (B) and blue (b)eyed genes so

Bb (dad) + Bb (mom) = bb (you)

  2. Red hair and blue eyes are both recessive genes, therefore they can show up sometimes after many many generations of not showing up!

  3. *wendy shrugs*

if dad and aunt had the red hair and it grew out.. possible that yours will do the same.

The simple answer, of course.. someone in history (an ancestor) had the coloring and it comes down sporadically and randomly.  Genetics works like that.

  4. My father was brown haired and blue eyed and my mother was brown eyed and blackhaired.  Both of my sisters tanned very well.  One had hazel eyes and one brown.  They were both born with black hair which turned blonde before they were a year and they became tow heads.  Their hair darkened as they got older.

I was born with red hair, blue eyes, skin cancer type complexion that freckled.   My paternal grandfather was a red head as well as my maternal grandmother.

Your parents had recessive genes that did not show up in their appearance.
