  1. I got a lot of ideas from Martha Stewart's Weddings website, and I either borrowed stuff from the rental companies or I actually bought some stuff from Ebay.  If other people used it just once in their weddings, you can bet it will still be in pretty good shape to use in yours.

  2. You didn't say where you live, but I live in North Florida and the main places I went to get wedding supplies were Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Garden Ridge. Those places are great, and as far as websites go, I would try theknot.com, weddingchannel.com, and weddingsolutions.com. Those helped me a lot.

    Good luck! :-)

  3. I'm getting married on Friday!!  My wedding is traditional in my church with a cake reception after in the fellowship hall.  It is not the first marriage for either of us, so we aren't doing the white gown thing.

I found my dress (tea-length formal) at Macy's, Matron of Honor dress  at JC Penneys, Flower girl dress at Kohls.

Reception supplies and silk flowers to make bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres at Hobby Lobby.

Reception table centerpieces (floating candles in silver and glass holders) at wrapwithus.com (less than $5 each)

    Personalized napkins at napkinspersonalized.com

Wedding music CD's and sheet music for the pianist at pianobrothers.com and for the singer/guitarist at Christian Book Distributors (cbd.com)

Personalized unity candle set with holder at wedowed.com

I found an antique blue glass basket at the antique store that I bought to use on the gift table to put cards in. (It will also look nice in our home)

I'm borrowing the table linens from my church, to go with their tables. My cousin's wife is making the cake and has her own supplies for the set up, also the punch bowl and pretty dishes for nuts and mints.

I also borrowed the flower girl basket and linens and lace for the cake table from a family member who got married last August.

Good Luck and have fun shopping. I think I've spent around $1200. But that includes $300 donation for use of the church and $200 to minister and musicians.

  4. http://www.topweddingsites.com has a list of all the best wedding sites out there.

  5. I got things from the internet mostly, except for my and my attendants' clothing (we went to a big city for selection).  My fiance's suit we got off of ahfashions.com and tie on etsy.com

    Wedding favors on amazon.com

Jewelry and some decorations on ebay.com and etsy.com

Part of the table decorations on an origamicorner.com

Of course, I'm having a very unique wedding, so I can't go to the standard stores for wedding stuff.

  6. I got most of my stuff on ebay.  I know it sounds crazy but a lot of vendors use ebay as an affordable way to advertise.  The link I posted below is the vendor that I went through.  I got everything from our toasting flutes and cake serving set to the guestbook and matching pen.  They have everything and a lot of the stuff you can get personalized.  Plus they will combine shipping so you save a lot of $$ =)  I hope that helps.

  7. Start with the knot.com

Where are you getting married? Maybe people can offer local resources for you.
