On our first date, my husband took me to the drive in movies and saw Cliffhanger and Made in America and then we drove up the canyon. Not the most romantic, but it was fun.

  1. We went to see "Jerry Macguire" on a double date with her cousin and my buddy.  We were supposed to pick her and her cousin up at her cousins house, I was nervous as h**l and left early just to chill out for a while, as I was driving around wasting time, I saw her walking to her cousins house and hauled *** around the corner so that she wouldn't see me. LOL  I was so dumb and naive.

  2. Our first date *my husband and I* we went to Rita's Water Ice and he *my husband* brought me a water ice and pretzel. We were with another couple that kept making out and that caused us to feel so awkward. We then went to see Taking the Lead and the entire movie the other couple was STILL making out while me then date and I kept exchanging quick glances. Right before the movie ending he lightly touched my hand and we both got static shocked. We laughed and talked for the duration of our date. Three years, one marriage and a baby later, we still laugh about that night. I found my prince...and oddly enough...he was just as nervous as I!

  3. We went to a dance.

  4. I drove to his house (sort of a blind date - only saw pictures of each other) and we went to Main Street here where we live on the beach.  It's a big strip of restaurants & shops.  He took me to dinner & then we walked around people watching.  Unfortunately we witnessed a big accident.  A couple of people got hit by a car in the crosswalk.  It was scary.  The people were taken by ambulance & later we found out they were okay.  When we first saw it happen I grabbed his arm & he jumped in front of me to protect me.  I thought that was kind of telling since we had only known each other for about 2 hours.  It was a bad situation but a little bonding moment for us.

  5. It's the 4th of July and she told me to meet her and some friends out by the lake for the 4th Firework Show. When I showed up it was just her. Turns out there were no friends, and no Fireworks. They shot them the night before, weird I know. So we drove downtown for the crowded show, waded through hundreds of people to get right down in front with the orchestra on the River. Trying to get through everyone I felt her reach out and grab my hand. I've been holding on ever since!
