  1. a local aquarium shop. the owner had a son interested in reptiles so they had a reptile section too.

  2. i would get a breeder even though i got mine from a pet shop. i have no reptile breeders around here. But my ball python is active, nothing rong with it.

  3. look for reptile swaps near you, if you live in illinois try the dupage county fairgrounds expo. i got mine from there and its very healthy, it was only 25$ too  =].

hope this helps!!! if you live in illinois email me and i will give u a very good breeder. bigestben959@yahoo.com. if not he might be able to ship 1 to you.

  4. NERD (New England Reptile Distributors)

  5. Go to a local breeder or a small petshop.  Any petshop like Petco for example gets their snakes through massive importing of baby ball pythons.  Every year 200,000 are imported into the US and sold into the pet trade.  Large petshop chains and even large scale breeders buy these in 1000 lot sizes for $6.  These are called captive hatched, sometimes noted as CH.  CH kills the environment and the number that get imported and survive is really sad.  I'd say try and locate a local breeder who cares for his animals.  They will be able to provide you a life time of support and questions if needed.  The service you'll get with local breeders will be much more personable and you'll be much happy in the end.  Breeders usually (don't want to say always) have very healthy animals which are parasite free and healthy.  Imports can be healthy, but they usually aren't.

  6. local shop

  7. If anywere, buy it from a In-Town breeder or a local Pet store (not a chain store) at chain stores, that kill snakes by throwing them hard on the ground........

  8. all of mine are rescued. i got them off craigslist from people who didnt know what they were doing. but i am buying a spider ball python from a local breeder. AVOID PET SHOP BALL PYTHONS! they are aggressive and not taken care of properly. they also could carry mites.

  9. Well I actually rescue all of my ball pythons from owners who don't want them anymore or from breeders who needs to get rid of them(connetions) All my snakes are very healthy and are wonderful eaters...also very docile

I wouldn't recommend local pet shop or stores because they don't keep good care of their snakes or reptiles.

And online breeders are okay but you have to do ALOT of research on them and read everything before you buy from them because sometimes they could be wild. Breeders take any type of ball pythons to breed and if they don't eat or shed they don't care because they usually plan to get rid of them. At least that's what I've heard from some breeders(I know it is mean and animal abuse)

    I would recommend kingsnake.com or craigslist.org

There are a few other places you could get them from too. Just don't go to pet stores or anything like that.

    Hope this helps a bit!
