  9. i had a filet at Longhorn and it was out of control! I was TRULY impressed..seasoned and cooked to perfection.

    other than that,  my most memorable steak was in high school when i got my very first taste of a filet mignon at a little restaurant on the causeway in mobile alabama.  don't remember the name of it but i thought i had died and gone to heaven.  i think i liked the steak more than the boy.

  17. In my own home -  I am the only person alive who cooks steak the way I actually like it.

    Take one 10 ounce rib-eye steak approximately 2 cm thick (3/4 inch), allow to come to room temperature, smear with olive oil, grind generous amount of black pepper and rub in. Leave for 10 minutes whilst heavy frying pan gets mighty hot.

    Do steak for 3.5 mins per side for medium rare, and serve with baby new potatoes and a rocket & baby tomato salad.  Horse radish sauce is a good accompaniment for the steak and a balsamic vinaigrette works with the salad.

  19. It wasn't in a restaurant! It was years ago, when the community college I worked for had some event, and they barbecued rib eyes. Never have I had a steak so yummy and fork-tender.
