  1. We got our American Pit Bull Terriers Duster and his brother Loki (we recently lost him to cancer) at our local shelter. We got our Miniature Schnauzer Goofy at the pound.

  2. through my uncle...

he's a vet, so we got the puppies who were abandoned, or dogs who the owner couldn't take care of anymore.

that's where we get our cats, too!

  3. I got her from a friend, seems she was the runt of the bunch and nobody wanted her. I don't know why nobody wanted her, she is the best dog ever.

  4. We got our toy poodle from a breeder back in October and we got our Lab mix from a really good rescue back in april (she was my birthday present)

We got our poodle at 9 weeks of age

and our lab mix was probably 11 weeks

  5. All of my feathered and fur kids are rescues!!!  Two were abonded in a park, starving to death - young babies maybe 7 weeks old, another was lost - we took him in and searched and searched for his owners to no avail, so he's still with us 16 years later, the three chihuahua's that live here were all adopted from the pound, the birds were all either surrendered by breeders or by people that just "were not bird people" - the cats-again, unwanted fur kids---this is why I so encourage people to adopt....www.petfinder.com is a wonderful place to find a great furkid,  and also, remember DON"T BREED OE BUY While Shelter ANIMALS DIE ---and be the responsible pet owner, spay or neuter your pet!!

  6. I got my mutt when he was 2 years old.  He was a city dog and was tied outside all the time.  The owners got tired of complaints of his barking.  A man I worked with was their neighbor and I agreed to take him in so he would not be taken to the pound. (I had him put down 04/01/08 at the old age of 15 years old.)

I saw an ad in the newspaper for a 8 month German Shepherd.  Found out the kids got tired of him.  (Their loss, my gain!)  But, unfortunately he passed away in my arms at 11 years old on 07/01/08.

I received a 3 1/2 year old labradoodle the end of April, 2008 due to his previous owner passing away suddenly.

I didn't want my labradoodle to be alone, so I found a puppy on line that was a mix of a german shepherd and a bernice mountain dog.  I thought that combination was awesome and he most certainly is!

  7. I Got mine from Breeders, but 4 my next pooch,i'm going to rescue:)

  8. The pound

    always have and always will.

  9. Lost But Loved (LBL) Animal Rescue in Murray, Kentucky

    She's my Avatar.

  10. I got my puppy from a breeder a few miles away that i found on a trusted website.

  11. I got Max, a newfoundland/ BC/Lab mix from someone who was going overseas. On the 10th of september we would of had him for 1 year.

I got Nipper a corgi X fox terrier off someone who had a stroke and couldn't look after him. And because he is so old she was going to put him down.

Then Missy a (possible) border collie/lab/staffy mix. she was only 6 weeks when we got her from the pound. We got her about 8 days ago now. And she's not as small as she use to be. ;)

Those are my dogs. Well the corgi is my brothers, I'm no fan of lil dogs.

  12. the local SPCA

  13. Found her on Petfinder.com - best place to go to find a dog of a certain breed and not support puppymills or breeders !

  14. I got my Akita from the website   Epupz.

A private family had a litter in Sheffield, England.  I bought my dog from them.  He is awesome and everyone who meets him say he is a fantastic Akita.   I think I got lucky in this as we did not go to a breeder and we only paid £350.00 for him.  This is around half what you would pay to a breeder.

  15. AKC breeder

  16. Shelter

    Breeder

    Grandparents

    Stray

  17. ?wat?

  18. First one, from my dad who could not take car of her.

Second one, from the pet store (oh the shame!)

Third one, from the breed specific rescue.

As long as you learn, no harm done!

  19. Sadie our black lab I found eating cat food on our front porch, she was  starved and only about 5 months old. We found where she came from but we didn't give her back...how could we?

Zoe our pure breed border collie was dropped off at a petco adoption day with all of her papers, and since it wasn't one of the rescue dogs they just let us have her for free. She is super hyper and is kinda retarded...I think. She lives on my dads ranch and is SUPER HAPPY.

Pippi our mixed border collie we got from a rescue. She is the perfect dog, she does everything right.

Rumpy my Corgi Lab mix was from the local animal shelter, he is 6 months old now. I got him at 12 weeks and I  just graduated high school and moved into a apartment. But he was lonely so I got him...

APOLLO my Great Dane mix who was also from the local animal shelter. I went in not wanting him, but after realizing all the "cute" pups I wanted were all considered aggressive breeds I asked about him and they told me he was a couple days away from being put down. So I adopted him.

  20. We bought our first dog, our old english sheepdog daisy (now 8yrs) at a backyard breeder when she was 8 weeks, and our x racing greyhound lowell (now 9 yrs) from a greyhound rescue group when he was 3

  21. my toby my mum bought me from a breeder we saw both parents and the house which was nice.

milo i saved from a bad family memeber who mistreated him badly i saved milo and adopted him as my own, he now happy  and healthy

  22. I don't have dogs, however; I got my cats at the shelter here in town. I went there to browse and came home with two! One is 25lbs and half bob cat(Very gentle and loving) and the other is a Siamese who is neurotic as h**l! Congrats on being a stand up person and taking that dog off her hands, she didn't deserve him anyways. Breeders tend to think dogs become useless after awhile, like an old car or bad milk. It's sad and it needs to change.

  23. I got mine through dog rescues.
