  1. yeah, there are a lot of places in Dallas to live. ONe place you don't want to live is Oak Cliff. Also watch out for the suburbs. The suburbs are cheap but traffic can be horrible.

  2. If your a single white female, any where from Downtown to Uptown, including North Dallas, & Oaklawn(if your family friendly).  Stay out of Oak Cliff.  There are 1 or 2 areas that are OK there, but seriously Don't do it. as for the Suburbs. If you have kids or like to Party, South Dallas is good.  Cedar Hill, RedOak and Waxahachie are good. More of the Small town feel.

  3. I live about 30 minutes out of the city in a rapidly growing city called frisco. its very nice here with all the new development buildings and sports complexes. there's a great mall, and many shopping centers around town.

i recommend it, unless you don't want to drive into dallas every morning for work!! however, with all the new roads, its easy to get around!!

  4. Park and Abrams is so-so.  Areas close are heavy with drugs.

Try Addison, N. Dallas (N of 635 between Tollway and Hillcrest areas), Plano, The Village area near Greenville/Central/Lovers Lane, Las Colinas/N Irving, Parts of Carrollton, If you an afford it, uptown, Highland Park, University Park, Coppell, Flower Mound, McKinney, Frisco, Allen (The last few towns are a ways out,)

Best source, just call the police for whatever area and ask their thoughts on the area you are looking at.  Many places in Dallas look nice, but aren't, esp. after dark.

  5. I live in Dallas.  Good areas are Plano, North Dallas, North part of Carrollton.  If you are rich, Highland Park, University City.

Hip/Trendy....Lower Greenville, but some crime there because of bars.

You are in/near North Dallas, so probably okay.

Of course, lot depends on your income, single or married, where you work, etc

  6. GoHorns is a moron ... Oak Cliff is not all bad ... it is really a diverse area with alot of artistic areas (Bishop Arts District) and good restaurants .... I live by Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff in a great area ....

The area you are speaking of is OK ... there is alot of great areas here ... feel free to contact me for any questions you have of the area ...

  7. In my opinion it will be more in terms of how long of a commute do you want.  Base your search around your place of employment until you get the traffic patterns down.
