Where do I begin planning a destination wedding??

My fiance and I have decided to get married in Cyprus (we're in Ireland). It will be a fairly small do, with us and around 10 relatives.

Trouble is, we are just overwhelmed by the wealth of options and packages available. Could anyone please give me an idea of how to get started and what I need to be remembering to do/get? Thanks

  1. Sit down and decide what you really want to have there and what the most important aspects are.  Is it a certain date you want?  Is it a certain kind of menu?  A certain ceremony or reception setting?  Plenty of things at the place for your guests to enjoy?  Once you decide that, it will be easier to narrow down the places you have to choose from.

  2. find a planner int eh area to help make arrangements and suggestions

  3. Planning a destination is best done with the help of a wedding planner. There's so much involved in the planning, that hiring a professional to assist you is money well spent. They handle everything as well as make contacts at the destination to help you once you get there.

  4. Deanni has good advice. Decide now what you absolutely must have, and leave the things that don't matter as much. Also, remember to keep  your expectations reasonable and you will enjoy each other and your special day, along with your special guests, so much more.  We got married at a resort and my only tip is to pick the one that will plan and execute the most details for you. That will leave you free to relax. And remember, they do this kind of thing all the time, so there isn't much you need to worry about. Wishing you a memorable wedding!
