I have only just joined and wish to be a Solitary. I have read the answers regarding which books to start with but I do not want to go out and buy too many. A couple to start with would be more appropriate. Too much information at once can be a tad off putting so would appreciate the names of perhaps two books and where do I buy them is important too. Price would also be a consideration.

  1. http://www.downunderlit.com is the book supplier recommended on the website of your local home educators' group ( http://www.hunterhomeed.com ).

Maybe you should try getting in touch with hunter home ed; even if you don't want to sign up with them (although there may be freebies, price reductions etc as well as educational and social opportunities available to you if you do decide to join them!) they're prolly the best people to know precisely what is available to you locally, how good/relevant/easy to understand individual books are and who locally are the best suppliers, stockists etc. They may even be able to get you a reduction on the list price or alternatively put you in touch with someone who has used books for sale or lend you copies of the books so you can see how well you go with them before buying your own copies.
