I have a side lock for a garage door, however, the "lock bar" is bent. It looks like there are supposed to be rails on both side. I do have one, but it is somewhat bent. Where would I find a replacement.

Here is a link to a similar lock type

  1. When I need a replacement for a garage door lock I always go to my hardware store.I own different houses and can usually find a compatible one there or one that can work if I replace the whole lock.  If they don't have the one I need they can refer me to a local who can get it. Some hardware stores are better than others so if the one closest is staffed with idiots try another one.

You can also try just bending the bar back in shape if it isn't to badly bent.

  2. I would look in home depot, or the biggest construction store in your area. good luck

  3. You can get them at any hardware store.  You can get a simple slide lock that is just as effective.  To install it you need 4 self tapping screws.  If you buy the part at a garage door company they will likely give you the screws and parts for $10 or so.
