I am a musician in search of help with some industry questions. I am a superb musician, but i am clueless when it comes to the industry and don't live anywhere where i would find much help. How can i find answers to my questions (ex. How much should i ask for when trying to sell a specific album to a specific label). can anyone recomend a forum or other place where i could get reliable help?

  1. You could try:

    http://www.homestudiomusicians.com/hsma/...

Otherwise, try calling the labels themselves and see if you could get some info.

Also, try asking recording studios around where you live... they should have a pretty good idea as to the answers to your questions, or at least be able to point you to the people who do!

I know that most of it is networking (at least that's how it is for me!) and not being afraid to talk to ANYBODY in "the biz".  Go to some live shows and talk to the performers after... let them know your name, etc., and just try to get your name out to as many people as you can!

Sorry I wasn't more help, but good luck! :)

  2. IF you are trying to sell your music and collect youre royalties...

go here. This sites ells your music for you on itunes, AmazonMP3 and Rhapsody and etc.  You also get to keep all your copyrights to all your songs too.

    www.tunecore.com

This site is highly recommended and I'm going on here after my first albums finished too

Now...IF you are looking to shop for a Record Label to be with...then go here. These sites will most likely help you...

www.recordlabelresource.com   -  list of various Record Labels

    www.musicconnection.com   Music Connection Magazine

    www.ilivetoplay.net  - Singer & Musician Magazine

    www.performermag.com - Performer Magazine

    Good luck
