Where do I find the Windows Media Player plugin for LaunchCast? I do not get the yellow installation feature.

The reason you don't see the information bar is that Yahoo! didn't consider the possibility that the WMP Active X plug-ins may be disabled or your Internet Explorer security settings may be set too high (in which case IE will not display the information bar).  Under Internet Explorer, click Tools, click Manage Add-ons and make sure that wmp.dll and wmpdxm.dll are enabled (if disabled, enable them).  If that looks OK, then click Tools, click Internet Options and click the Security tab at top and make sure your Internet Security is set to Medium-High and Active X is enabled (easiest way is to set Default level).  Hope that works (it did for other people that had the same problem).   :)
