  1. Most, if not all, of the cruise lines will demand a valid passport.  That passport is surrendered to the cruise line when you embark and you don't get it back until you disembark at the end of the cruise.  That passport is proof of your citizenship, just be sure to check with the cruise line or your travel agent that your citizenship is accepted in all of the ports of call for that particular cruise.  Bon Voyage!

  2. I have always received my immigration forms with my cruise tickets.  In addition, I've never hit a port in Florida (and I've cruised out of every one) that hasn't had additional immigration forms in the terminal.

Now, I have filled out forms on the website of the cruise line I'm traveling... but again, I had to wait for a conformation number either in the mail (with my tickets) or via my email.   Usually there's a link on the cruise line's website that's has "my reservations" or "my cruises" where you'll log into a secure site using your reservation number.

Just another hint, if you can, book your shore excursions online before you leave!!  The really good ones can sell out if you wait until you board.

(Great, now I want to cruise again!)

  3. Your cruise ship will have them on board at the purser's desk and they only atke about two minutes to fill out.  Otherwise you can usually get one in the cruise terminal when you get back.

Passports are not yet required for a cruise but you best get one ASAP if you plan to leave the country any more.

  4. You don't need any immigration forms to take a cruise. Also only citizins other than USA, have to hand over their passport at the beginning of the cruise, and you don't get it back unitl you dock after the cruise. I still can't understand this silly rule.

  5. Since you were directed online to fill out immigration forms I'll assume that you're sailing on a cruise line that supports this.  To fill out the forms online, go to the website of the Cruise Line that you will be sailing on.  Once you register on the site you should be able to find your reservation for your sailing and fill out the forms in question and possibly also make reservations for shore excursions and specialty restaurant reservations.

Princess in particular has very comprehensive tools as part of their cruise personalizer on their website.

  6. where did you book your cruise?  is it through a travel agent or direct booking to the cruise company itself.  usually immigration papers can be filled out online or you can call the cruise line if you book directly and they will send you this forms and you can mail it back to them.  also depends on where you're going, carribean, mexico, you  need a valid passport at least 6 months before it expires.  have fun on your trip!
