Where do I find this stuff??

I am making my daughter a dollhouse out of a bookshelf, and I have never done this kind of thing before...where do you get the wallpaper and carpet from? It is going to be a princess house, so I am looking for pink and purple and sparkly stuff. Any suggestions and tips of any kind are also welcome and most appreciated! I really have no idea what I'm doing. :)

for carpet you can use low nap velvet. carpet samples, small household rugs.  any fabric really

you can also create hardwood floors using popsicle sticks.

for wallpaper- scrapbook paper, wallpaper samples, decorative gift bags, anything paper, or fabric! You can also buy dollhouse wallpaper from some craft stores or online.

You can pretty much go into ANY store and look for items that have a small print, and it will work in a dollhouse!

Go to your local design shop and ask if they have an outdated book of wallpaper samples. The ones with small patterns will do nicely as wallpaper inside the dollhouse, and you should be able to obtain the sample book for free. (Hint -- it's a pretty safe bet that if you have your daughter do the asking, she'll get a couple of books!)
