I'm almost 18 and apparently only a certain photo ID card or driver's license is accepted to get into bars, I don't have my license so where do I go to get a card?

  1. The RTA motor registry offers a Photo Card. It bears the cardholder's name, address, date of birth and gender. NSW residents over 16 years who do not hold a NSW drivers licence or NSW Proof of Age card may apply for a Photo Card.  Identification and proof that you are a NSW resident is required. They are valid for 5 years. The new Photo Card is replacing the Proof of Age card recently available to over 18's, however previously issued Proof of Age cards will remain valid for the next 3 years.

  2. The only place to get a legal ID is the RTA or to use your passport. I suggest getting an ID card or why not get your licence instead.

  3. the rta will issue a photo id card showing your age name address it costs about $30 and lasts for 5 years

  4. You can get a Proof of Age/ID card from the RTA, but it does not have address details which is a pain when you are trying to prove your identity.

It might be worth just getting your Learners Licence just for the full enchilada of identity.
