How many days does it take to get a working permit? Do I have to bring any documents to get one, such as proof of age documents? Does my employer need to sign anything for it, and do I have to get any documents from my employer first?

  1. You get a working permit from your school.  Most schools have offices that are open during the summer, even though there are no classes.  The school has to stay open to register new students and to plan for the fall.
