Marseille is a lovely city on the Mediterranean with nice weather and in a great part of Provence.

Often, people do not know that there is an  ancient language spoken in Marseilles that has been around since the Roman invasion; it is called the Provencal language (it is not French but is its own language).  The Marseleiaise have a dielect of their own.
