Where do I get my motorcycle license?

I am finally 19 and in NJ I can get my motorcycle license.

What kind of tests do you take? How long does it take?

I have never ridden a motorcycle and my family doesn't either so I have no reference. I just know I would love it though.

Is it hard to learn.

Thanks!

  1. If you can ride a bicycle, you can learn to ride a motorcycle.

Yes, it does take some skill to ride one, not all people have balance.

You can't just go take the test without knowing how to ride one. It takes prior experience, most classes at designed for people who already have basic knowledge of riding.

  2. First get a motorcycle to practice on

its not that hard to practice for the test at the dmv written

    or the drivin test

but wtv u do dont go to msf unless u ant to pay $200

or u could just go to the dmv pay under $30

    and get three tries

  3. can you ride a bicycle?

do you have a car drivers license?

can you drive a manual, stick shift car?

do you have any friends with motorcycles you can ride with?

do you have a passion to ride a motorcycle, to feel the wind in your face, to feel the freedom and the thrill of your in control of a high speed motorcycle?

did you price motorcycle insurance and if you did can you afford it?

are you prepared to do simple maintenance checks to a motorcycle ( checking oil, brakes, tire pressure)?

are you relaxed and not mean tempered when an old lady driving a Buick runs a stop sign and almost runs you over when your riding a bike?

RE:   sweetheart! if you can answer "yes" to all of my questions, then you're ready !

I mean don't go thru the time and trouble getting a motorcycle license if you're not sure if you want to own and ride a bike or not!

At your young age the cost of motorcycle insurance is going to be extremely high, and it takes a lot of work and time and money to own a motorcycle, just make sure you are prepared for that.

just trying to help cause I see many people new to motorcycles that can't afford the costs of ownership

  4. Check out the local motorcycle shops for a rider trainer course. They are not very expensive and after you take it you can get a discount on your insurance. As far as the license your drivers license office. In TX  it is the DPS office. You have to ride the mc in front of an officer. Not hard to learn, but a class will help you if you have never ridden. It will give you alot of confidence and help with safety aspects of riding a motorcycle.

  5. Start here http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/Moto...

If you take a MSF class it will for go the road test and it will teach you how to ride it will only take you a week or two to get your motorcycle license

Not hard to lean takes year to master
