  1. Well, I would start by educating yourself about Actor's Equity, and the whole system of being represented by an agency.   If you have strong singing skills in place, then good for you.   If you have some experience in musical theatre, then all the better. If you are a good dancer that can learn routines quickly -- even better yet. Great elocution?  Fabulous.   Have you played lead roles in musical theatre... then wonderful.   If you lack any of those skills, then you will need to get to work.

Joining a local theatre company will give you tons of insight as to how committed you are towards this goal.  You'll meet people who have a lot of knowledge they can share.

Acting on Broadway is very very very competitive.  The more solid skill and experience you have, the better off you are, but even then.... there are no guarantees.  You may need to start locally before you make the leap to New York.  The phrase "It's not what you know, but who you know" is part of show business.

You will have to work very hard just to get the tryout for the chorus of any show, broadway or not in New York City.   So, get your chops as solid as possible, singing, dancing, acting -- all of it.  The stage requires lots of physical stamina too, so being in good physical shape is important.

You could consider an undergraduate degree in theatre.  There are several programs that do a very good job in connecting young talent into the theatre industry.   I attended a college known for this very thing, and I have several friends who work in many capacities in the theatre and film industry.  It's not easy to get work, but my friend's training and connections helps them.

So it's definitely possible you could fulfill that dream, but hardwork, understanding the business of the industry and experience are your best tools.

    Good luck

  2. First, find out where "Broadway" is, then (go there!)

  3. First... you need to get a reality check... "Playing Meg from the Phantom" many be just a bit ambitious for a COMPLETE UNKNOWN.. with NO TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE.

Second... you can find auditions in www.backstage.com and you have to PAY for the information

  4. it sounds as if u r really young, or inexperienced , or both, so first things first,

    1) get some experience auditioning for things where u r, u need to work on confidence in front of an often hostile set of judges and peers, try out for anything, theatre, choral groups, commercials, theater work, whatever.

    2) get some cred, despite what u mite have heard, unless u r just spectaclular in auditions, most theater companines want to see some actual experience in ur background, besides high school plays, unless of course the part calls for someone 5 yrs old. a lot of the so called kids on broadway r actually very young looking adults, playing parts of say 15 yrs old and up. most of the kids who r actually kids have been doing lots of commercial or modeling work since almost birth.

get some references too while u r at it, studying wiht acting, and or singing teachers can give u some cred adn maybe an in for closed auditions if the teacher is connected.

3)practice, practice practice, idk where u r now, but  u r going up against a really competitve group of people, all who would give their firstborn to get any kind of part, so practice dancning, singing, and acting at every opportunity, join a small theater company, do off broadway, do childrens theater, do regional theater, anything.

    4) to aspire is a good thing, but dont get ur hopes up for a single part, the odds of getting into a show r bad enuf, but u dont even know if the show will be performing by the time u get good enuf to perform it.unless sof course u have the financial wherewithall to self bankroll ur own production, in which case, y r u asking this question?
