Where do I go to enroll my child in school?

I know it's probably different in every state but just wondering if I go to the school I want to put him in or City Hall or something else? Any advice?

Take a copy of his immunization records, a utility bill and his birth certificate to the school the he would be attending   but if you do not know this then contact the main office of the local school system and ask the question about when registration is and which school he will be expected to attend    also this information could be found on the school systems website (if the system is large enough)

What? Your question makes no sense.  When people go to work or go to school...they put their child in a daycare program or they arrange something with a family member.

Each school district is different.  I suggest calling the elementary school he will attend and ask the receptionist where you need to go.  In our dist., we go to the main district office with birth certificate, proof of residence and immunization records.

I would just call the school that you are planning on him attending and ask them they can tell you exactly what papers you have to have and where to go. good luck

Call your local school and ask about kindergarten registration -it should be coming up in the next few months. don't worry - there will be lots of first time mothers not knowing for sure what to be doing. That's what registration is for -to update you on all the things expected and to officially enroll your child.

When we moved my sons were nearly 5, i took them to visit both infant schools just before we moved. I prefered the School which was out of catchment so i had to appeal through the Education Dept [the School you choose should be able to give you the Form or give you the address to write to]. Make sure your happy with your chose as they say the first few years of your childs schooling is important. Good luck
