I am traveling to Florence, Italy in a couple of days, and I am planning to take my prescription for ortho tri-cyclen lo. I have heard that common medications in the US are sometimes banned in other countries, so I want to make sure that this is ok.

  1. Get a written perscription from your doctor stating that you need this medication, and keep it with you and the meds. DO NOT check in you meds with you luggage, but carry them with you with the perscription. I an Canadina, living in Italy for 20 years, and going back and forth quite often, the later of the 10 years with 3 small children....various meds...carry them with you at all costs, as luggage goes lost often, and the perscription with them. You will not have any problems this way.  Have a good trip and enjoy Italy
