Question:

Where do I go to fix my Honda Accord 2005?

Recently I was involved in a car wreck at work. The guy was speeding and hit me on my right side rear wheel. I went into a state of shock and was unable to give the officer a proper statement. My side air bags deployed and the wheel was pushed in from the impact. Body work, paint, air bags, bumper and whatever is wrong with the wheel is going to cost me $3,500 which I think is too much? Can someone tell me where I can purchase parts so that all I pay is labor.

  1. Well, look at it this way, you get what you pay for, the only place that will do a good job, is an I-Car certified HONDA DEALER BODY SHOP. You may pay a little more, but the quality will be unbeatable........

  2. GO TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP . THEY CAN FIX THE AIR BAGS AND THE BUMPER BUT IDK ABOUT THE REST

  3. Keep in mind that most shops won't let you bring in your own parts, because that is where they make part of their profit.

Side-impact wheel damage to front-wheel drive cars can be quite costly.  Be prepared for the shop to call you in the middle of repairs, stating that they found something else.   The condition of some parts won't be known until they pull others off.

I had to write off my beloved '89 Accord due to front wheel damage from a side impact.   The costs just kept going up and up as they pulled more parts off.

Do whatever possible to not skimp on repairs.  Obviously, cost is not indicative of a good shop, but if you go for the cheapest one, you might regret it a year later, when your car starts shaking like crazy.

And I absolutely do NOT agree with taking it to a dealer.  There are many top-quality shops, at least as good as a dealer in quality and most definitely cheaper.

  4. Labor is the biggest cost. Some places charge like 50 to 100 dollars an hour. I don't think that price you were quoted is too much. Automobile repairs are through the roof just like everything else.
