I am looking for a wedding dress.

I really like the dresses that look almost antique like with lace.

Help! I don't even know where to begin looking?

  1. EBAY! Tons of dresses here. All types.

  2. First, look online to maybe get a feel of what you might like, but it doesn't hurt to be open minded. Next, ask around and see which bridal shops in your area are the best and make an appointment to go try on dresses. Be sure that if your bring people don't bring more than 2 or 3. Hearing too many opinions won't let you actually pick a dress for YOURSELF. Also, bring a versatile bra (i.e. strapless) when you try on dresses because you don't want your straps to be showing.

To help you out a bit, I have some dresses that I think you may enjoy:

  3. David's Bridal has a stunning lace dress (Style T9512) with beaded embellishments throughout, althought the picture really doesn't show this detail.  I thought it was beautiful, and I don't even like lace, haha.

Best bet is to look on the internet, as everyone else has suggested.  Find styles you like and then try to find bridal shops that carry the dress.  You can also search ebay and craiglist to see if anyone has that dress and is trying to sell it.

  4. This one is beautiful -

  5. http://pronovias.com/

this designer makes alot of lace dresses you should check out this site.

  6. maggiesottero.com, amsale.com, alfredangelo.com, moncheribridals.com, rinadimontella.com, verawang.com  The dress you showed is gorgeous.  There should be no problem finding a dress for your wedding.  If you find that all the dresses are too formal and poufy, then click on informal or destination wedding gowns on each of these sites.  Good Luck

  7. I agree with the poster above. First look online to get some ideas. Bridal magazines can also be helpful for ideas. If you like any particular dresses look at which bridal shops carry the brand so you can go in and try them on. You might also like to visit bridal shops in your area to try on a few dresses to get an idea of what styles suit your body and which ones don't.

If you can't find anything you like, you could always get a dress made by a seamstress- but make sure they're reputable and ask if you could see some pictures or samples of their work first.

  11. I had my mom make my wedding dress.  I know not everyone has that option.  Maybe find someone you know that sews a ton, and that would be willing to create a dress just for you.  It's cheaper for one, and it would get you exactly what you want.  Otherwise in IA where I'm from, David's Bridal is a popular store for dresses.  They start their pricing at $99 and go up.  Look in bridal magazines, online, just do a search engine.  With today's technology there's endless possiblities.  Best of luck!
