Where do I put a memory card in my sony dvcamcorder?

Caus ei've had this camcorder for years and haven't been able to show off my blockbusters so I want to figure out how to use a memory card with it. Please help me!!!!!

  2. What will having a memory card do?

    If you have had the camcorder for years, it is likely a miniDV tape or Digital8 tape based camcorder. You need to use a firewire cable to connect the DV port on the camcorder to the firewire port on your computer. Install a firewire port if your computer does not have one. Transferring digital video from these camcorders will not happen using USB.

    If the camcorder is older - analog - like VHS, VHS-C, Hi8 or something else, there may not be a slot for a memory card - which is why you can't find a place to put it in the camcorder.

    To transfer video from an analog camcorder, you will need the AV cables that came with the camcorderand connect them to an analog/digital bridge like

    then connect the A/D bridge to your computer using USB or firewire per the A/D bridge requirements.

    But you have no need for a memory card... Sony's first flash memory camcorder (HDR-CX7) came out only early last year I think, so you could not have had it "for years"...
