Where do I put the wedding favors?

This may sound stupid, but I've never been married before or even been a wedding that I can really remember. Where do I put the favors at the reception? Do they sit at each persons spot on the tables or on their own table where people just walk up and take one?

  1. They can got at the persons space either in front or on the dinner plate. You could also put them in a basket and let people take them when they leave, but I don't like that because people usually take more than one or forget them.

  2. You can truthfully do either or.

To ensure that each person has one, on each plate, but at the same time you can put them on the table, and allow ppl to get their own.

  3. The favors are normally placed somewhere above each person's place setting at their table.  A good spot might be right above each person's water glass.

  4. Either is appropriate. I have been to weddings where they have been placed at each person's seat at the reception. I have also been at weddings where they were placed on a table and you picked them up as you left.

  5. but them on the tables hunny! and always put one or two extras lol!!!!! dont worry you dont sound dumb!!! congrats!!!! and good luck!!!

  6. At my cousin's wedding just last year I think all they had were matchbooks with her name and the groom's name on them.

And they were in baskets in the lobby before the big dining room at the reception.

  7. They can go on the place setting, in the plate that is already placed there, in the center of the table. While I was doing all of my wedding shopping I noticed that some people incorporated their place cards with their favors and had them at the check-in table. Or you can have them in the actual reception hall on a decorated table. You can go to Yahoo!.com and type in favor tables, make sure you click on the Image tab so you can view pictures. Good Luck!

  8. Some people place them in front of each person's dinner plate. I personally handed mine out. I left them all beside the venetian table. Some people leave it next to the cake, too. It's all up to you. I just went to a wedding where we didn't have any favors at ALL. So which ever way you do it, make it most comfortable for you.

  9. They go wherever you want them to go

  10. some people put them at the table and some wait at the door so they can say thank you and give them a favor in person

  11. I got married not to long ago and I made hugs and kisses roses that I put in vases on the guest tables. This way they could take them if they wanted to and it also added as decorations on the tables.

  12. You can do it either way.  Either put one at each place setting, or put them on a table for the guests to take on their way out.  It is up to you!

  13. it depends on what you want. Some people have a table for the favors. It is usually near where the table cards would be. We put ours on the tables. Because we didn't have spefic seating. Whatever is easiest for you. Is usually the best bet

  14. It's your wedding you can do what you please but more often then not it depends on the favor.

I used picture frames that held seating place cards as the favor (the nice ones not the cheapies)

My sister got married in an apple orchard and placed caramel apples on everyones plates as her favors so it really is what you want to do.

  15. they should sit on the table at each person's spot

  16. I would put them at each person's place setting.

  17. I think it's best to put one at everyone's place.  That way they are more likely to be used (if candy) or taken home (if something else.)  If you put them on a table, you may end up with most of them still there at the end of the night!

  18. There are two really great ways to distribute favors.  One, is you can put them at each place setting as though they belong right beside the silverware.  This alerts each guest that the favor belongs explicitly to him.

You can also have a favor bar.  Decorate one table, put a cute sign that says "take one," and line your favors up however you like.  I've seen them done extravagantly, and simply.  Some people build a bar with lights and lattice and hang the favors, others just place them on the table just inside the entrance.  Put the bar near any photo poster boards you have and your guest book.  This will let guests know it is to be done upon entrance.

    Hope this helps!
