Where do I recycle old CD's? (instead of throwing away)?

For instances CD's that have old songs or that did not record well and are now not rewritable/cannot be used again (junk) etc

  1. On earth911.com there is a search engine at the top where you type in what you need to recycle and your zip code, and they find the area closest to you.


  2. One option is: join www.freecycle.org (by email subscriptions), and send an email to the subscribers that you are offering it to be collected.

    That way, you get rid of it (your CD or most other things, for that matter) without spending a penny, and someone local (where you live) picks it up if he/she thinks it is useful.

    Good for you, good for the next user, good for the environment!

  4. Try greendiscs  or you could donate them to discsfordogs.org all proceeds go to the SPCA

  5. you should try checking with your local elementary or headstart school.  There are crafts that the kids can do with the CDs.  I know school is not in session right now, but in about 1 week or 2 they will be.  Put a note at the office desk or a bulitin board at the school.  Thsi way teachers can see it and they can contact you for the supplies.
