Where do I report a dentist that charged for 2 cores/post and did not do them. I know it for a fact.

I was a dental assistant many years and when my friend had her teeth prepped for crowns I went with her in hopes of seeing the shade they were going to use. Right central and right lateral. There was a slight small overlap. When the doctor came in they brought him the molds they made and he looked at them and said good. I asked if I could see-the margins were clearly imperfect-he all of a sudden decided to get another model. I ask him if he was going to be able to smooth out that little over lap and he said oh yes. He re prepped the tooth and said he meant to do that.

these were beautiful teeth though stubs by then. When he walked out the receptionest came in and said it would be another 300 for the post he had to use . There was no post, no building up of either tooth. I tried the ADA and was blocked. I have never made a complaint like this ever.

  1. Why not just confront him and tell him you think he made a mistake, maybe infact they did make a mistake.  Before you report it you should tell them they made a mistake, maybe they did, afterall they are human.

if you mean you were blocked and its being ignored, i would consult your lawyer and best of luck to you (sorry dont kno what ADA is)

  2. MAKE A COPY OF EVERY DENTAL RECORD AND SEND IT CERTIFIED RETURN REQUEST TO YOUR STATE'S BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATION.

THEN CALL AN ATTORNEY AND PRESENT YOUR CASE.

  3. If you are unhappy with the dentistry done on YOU, you can do what ever you want....if the work was done on someone else....THEY have to complain.  IF you were a dental assistant for "many years" you would know who to complain to.

  4. get a copy of your medical records & bills paid, have an assessment by another dentist, and you are still convinced that malpractice occurred, contact your state's Board of Dentistry.
