Where do I report a scam about selling a camper; guy claims to be a soldier in Afghanistan?

I know it's scam b/c this is completely different than what was listed on Craigslist in a state far from CO.

"Hello,

If you are interested in my 2002 Holiday Rambler 26 SKS, 28 ft, it is in

perfect condition, no scratches, dings. It has a clear title ready to be

signed and notarized on your name.

The camper is located Parker, CO.

The price is $2,499 including shipping costs anywhere in the continental US. There are no other costs regarding this transaction. I am selling the camper because I am in the army, and my unit will be deployed to Afghanistan in September.

The transaction will be closed only through a 3rd party and this way we will both be protected. My time is limited due to my job in the army so I decided to use a service from ProPay. To begin the transaction I'll

need your full name and shipping address, I will forward the details of

our transaction to ProPay and then you will receive an invoice from

them. The camper will be shipped insured to your location with DAS and you will have 5 days for inspection.

I have been talking with this guy as well, it was listed in Spokane.  Where else is this listed?  He claims to be starting the "proper paperwork" however I am asking for him to sign documents provided by my bank (release of title)...

There is a 99.999% chance this is a scam. You'll never see your "protected" money, nor will you ever see the camper, which likely doesn't exist.

If you actually knew where the guys lives, you can report it to the local police, but these kind of scammers know how to protect their identity and location so that they can't be found.

If you think it's a scam then don't send them any money. Contact craiglist or whatever site it's on and say you think its a scam. You could try calling the police but so far there is no crime unless you sent money.

If you think it's a scam, you can report it right to craigslist. I don't know what they do about it other than remove the ad.
