Where do I stand if I wanted to buy something such as an Ipod in the US and bring it back to the UK?

  1. due to 9/11 all electronic devices can be seized indefinitely at the US border, so mail it out of the country, don't carry it with you. No, seriously. Either coming into or leaving the US, they can take your phone, ipod, laptop, flash memory, basically any electronic information storage device. I saw a piece on this on the news.


  2. As far as I know there is no extra tax if it is for your own use.

  3. I think it'll be fine, not extra taxes or anything (as long as your not selling it or anything)

    My cousin brought back a laptop from america and I don't think he had any problems.

    (but it may also depend on the airline, and exactly where your flying from and to.)
