Try www.hotelclub.com - they operate world-wide and I've found their user ratings and comments on accommodation very useful in choosing satisfactory accommodation.  Gives a good guide to standards of cleanliness, service and maintenance of facilities.  Can also be cheaper than booking direct with an establishment.
