Where do Maned Wolves live?

The maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus) is native to South America, and is sometimes referred to as 'the fox on stilts'. Both names are inappropriate - it is neither a wolf nor a fox, but another type of canid belonging to its own genus.

South America, in south-eastern Brazil, paraguar, northern argentina, bolivia east of the andes, and peru.

The ylive in the Pampas of South America, mostly in Argentina, but also Uruguay, Paragay and Brazil

They live in South America, in open humid grasslands and wetlands from the Pantanal (mostly in Brazil) to the humid Chaco and Mesopotamia in Paraguay and northeastern Argentina.

They're shy, somewhat furtive animals, and I don't think it's common to see them in the wild.

EDIT: the preferred habitats of this animal is not the typical Argentine pampas (grasslands) but the more humid open areas located further north (Brazil, Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina).
