  1. they may learn from experience and that there are alot a crazys out there

  2. Dateline NBC occasionally has a program on internet safety.  I highly recommend it.  You could also go to Chilling Effects (http://www.chillingeffects.org).  The sad fact of the matter is that nothing you do will keep your kids safe forever - eventually they WILL find pornography, hate groups, and plans for making explosives - unless you keep them from ever using the Internet (or even better a computer).  The best thing you can do is to make sure that they have good common sense and good "netsense."  To foster good common- and netsense, you should develop it yourself, by spending enough time using the internet to develop your own gauge of safe and unsafe for kids.

  3. bsafe online.  it helps! it blocks unwanted websites!

  6. you will probably learn the most from talking to your kids and asking them.  It is better to have open conversations with them than try to shelter them from every little thing.
