Where do all the SoCal teachers live?

My husband and I, both teachers, are planning a move to San Diego county within three years. How in the world do teachers afford to live, or do they all just live inland, or have spouses with more lucrative jobs? any insight?

There are still nice areas in So. Cal. that are affordable & within decent commute range from the districts we work in. If you are planning on working in San Diego county, I would suggest looking a bit inland for affordable homes to buy or rent.

I have used realtor.com as a favored site to research availability and affordability of an area before taking a job in a new district.
