Where do all the dead whales go?

this isn't a joke. i really want to know. and please don't say heaven or h**l or anything. i mean like where do their dead bodies go?

They sink down and flow back and forth with the tides as they decompose and other organisms eat them.  Water and the critters living in it make quick work of decomposition.

They usually sink down until they reach the floor, by then it's probably just a big chunk of whale, and all the marine life on the ocean floor feeds off of it for about a week. Watch Planet Earth: Ocean deep, it says it in there.

Well, depending where the whale surfaces-- that makes a difference.  

Some rot away on deserted beaches, others get eaten up by scavengers or very hungry animals (from seagulls to bears).  

Sometimes they get pushed back into the ocean (if small enough) to dissolve away and get eaten by fish.  

Rarely, but it is either Green/Iceland, where they actually (if fresh enough) get used for their meat by HUMANS.  The rotting flesh is a delicacy there.

they float for a while - many predator/scavengers pick them apart until air cavities in the body no longer keep the rest of the bones and carcass buoyant - it then descends to the sea floor where several other bottom dwelling fish and eels devour the rest leaving the bones.

Occasionally, the whale will wash up on shore before the body loses buoyancy

The same way other things die.

Dead whales tend to either get beached onto the shore, or their bodies would slowly sink to the bottom, and either picked at by fish & other creatures, or slowly rott away.
