When I was a chef and worked in Toronto, there was an organic market in the concorsse behind the Movenpick restaurant on Tuesday's that sold organic produce, this time of year or in the middle of August on Saturdays in the north market at the St Lawrence Market, the one just behind the SL center on Jarvis and King, I saw it and purchased it ther along with baby veg and other hard to find goods try there.

It is actual a hybrid of regular corn not a regular one picked early, it was developed years ago, and the Chinese just decided to cultivate and can it, it is not much different fresh, and is along hard to clean than the older bigger ones, and you need some much more than most other veg, it is like fava beans, more work than they are worth.
