  1. (a) Oil-producing plants

    (b) Used cooking oil

  2. the bio fuel plants buy their oil on the open market.  They buy soy bean, corn, jalapta, palm, talow, used oil, what ever is cheapest that day.  You can buy it too, its just that you have to buy it in 1,000 bbl lots like they do.

Soybean oil is trading for $4/gallon, go ahead buy it and then add $2/gallon to process it into biodiesel

  3. even though you can make bio diesel from any vegetable oil, most of the ones in the US are using corn oil, because the corn is readily available.

  4. Bio-diesel fuel is actually just diesel combine with other form of fuel. There are many types, for example, B5, B20, B99. etc. What do they mean? The number simply means the percentage of other fuel added to the diesel. For B5, it means 5% of other fuel and 95% of diesel.

It is actually a stupid invention trying to confuse the public. It should not even be categorized as an invention. It's was just because of some smart @ss trying to prove that they have produced something that can be used to replace diesel.

It is not even feasible or rather commercialize after so many years of studies. In fact, bio-diesel news are not even in talks anymore.

Agree with 2nd answer about the corn and I just want to add that in Asia, they used palm oil to mix it with diesel
