We use to have an active birds nest right in our backyard, but the birds have learned to fly, so where do they go now?

  1. They begin their lives, looking for food, mates, etc.  Once chicks are able to live on their own, they leave the nest.  No longer in the care of their parents, they begin foraging, evading predators (hopefully), and when they're old enough, they seek out mates to begin families of their own.

  2. They start their own lives, just like us humans ^_~

They are probably just out to find food and shelter. They'll mate when they get older. Maybe join a flock? It really depends on the type of bird and their location.

Don't worry about them, though. They're just out being birds!
