  1. If British Airways flies 747-400s out of PHX, then grab one.  Otherwise, you may need to fly on a connecting regional to some hub that launches international flights.  Remember that with the present "anti-terrorism" joke club on stage, it is taking months to get a passport, so start on that first.

Then book a flight to London or HongKong or Tokyo or Singapore.  Many other cities.  Your booking listing on Travelocity or equivalent will say what type airplane is involved in each leg of the journey.

    Have fun!

  2. well i know that british airways is flying to phoenix non-stop with a 747 to London Heathrow.

  3. there's a british airways flight that flies from Phoenix to London that is a 747.

there might be others, I don't know. It would have to be a long distance flight though, because 747's aren't really used for short domestic flights.

  4. British Airways flies a 747-400 to PHX.  They have daily arrivals at about 5:00pm local.

    Here's a link to all 747-400 flights: http://flightaware.com/live/aircrafttype...

Here's the outgoing PHX to EGLL flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BAW28...

    And the incoming flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BAW9C...

  5. you can go on the web site of 747 carriers and pick a departure and arrival airport then check the flight i know that united airlines shows the plane you fly in

  6. In the old days, airlines concentrated on filling large aircraft flying few flights, as this is the most economical and efficient way to fly.  Today, they emphasize a large number of small flights, even though this is much less environmentally friendly and much more wasteful. The idea is that people want as many flights as possible, rather than just one or two per day.  As a result, while 747s regularly flew domestically in the past, today one tends to see them in the Western world only on long-haul overseas routes.

As previously mentioned, BA does operate 747-400s to London out of Phoenix. That's about it.  Gone are the days when you could catch a 747 from PHX to SFO or even JFK.
