Where do boogers come from?

I have been sick for about one week. And I'm constantly blowing my nose. I blow my nose then about 1 minute later i have to do it again!! I'm tried of it!!! I have a sore throat, and I'm really tired.And my mom doesn't want to take me to the doctors. She thinks its just something i'll get over. Well what should I take?

  1. You are congested due to a cold virus.  Since the virus is in your system, your body is working hard to fight it, thus creating mucus which is the "snot" you are blowing.  

    You want to take medicine that dries up congestion.  You can get some over the counter stuff to give you some relief.  Just look for words like "relief congestion" on the lable.  Sudafed products are usually the best.  Robutusson is good too for those symptoms.

    Your mom doesnt want to bring you to the doc because if it's just a bad cold there is nothing a doc can do for you but tell you to drink fluids, get plenty of rest and take cold medicine for temporary relief until the virus works its way through your system.

    Drink lots of orange juice, avoid dairy products (which feed the mucus) and eat well till it goes way.  Make sure you don't have fever and if it's something that stays for another week you may need to go to the doc to get some antibiotics to help speed the process.
