  7. Their humps,

    their humps,

their humps their humps their humps!

    Their lovely lady lumps.

    Check it out!

They store water in the form of fat tissue, primarily in their humps.

  8. its fat its in there humps people always think its water its not

  9. Camels do not store water in their humps as is commonly believed; the humps are actually a reservoir of fatty tissue. When this tissue is metabolized, it acts as a source of energy, and would yield more than 1 g of water for each 1 g of fat converted through reaction with oxygen from air. This process of fat metabolization generates a net loss of water through respiration for the oxygen required to convert the fat

Their ability to withstand long periods without water is due to a series of physiological adaptations. Their red blood cells have an oval shape, unlike those of other mammals, which are circular. This is to facilitate their flow in a dehydrated state. These cells are also more stable in order to withstand high osmotic variation without rupturing when drinking large amounts of water (100 litres (22 imp gal/26 US gal) to 150 litres (33 imp gal/40 US gal) in one drink).

  10. THEY DO NOT STORE WATER IN THEIR HUMPS!!!!!

This is where they store fat for energy, IF it was stored in other cells, it would reduce the cooling efficiency of their body cells. (Fat is a good insulator!)

Water is stored in the rest of the body cells, just like with us and all other mammals!!

  11. THEY DO NOT STORE WATER IN THEIR HUMPS!

  12. they store it in those bumps on their back..(usually referred as humps.)

in the desert they can survive because of their water storage.

  13. in the hump on their back

  14. there brain

  15. It's stored in the fat cells throughout the animals body and mostly in their hump.

The real adaptation trait is the unique way in which the water is held, meted out, and processed in the animal's body, not the hump itself.

  16. Used to be Chernobyl but then they all got the hump..
