Where do can I find a 220 switch or can a convert a single 110 switch to do the job?

  1. 220 in North America is simply 2 110 lines. You need to use a double switch or breaker.


  2. Actually, you just need to check the rated voltage on the metal section of the switch you're using.  Many of them are rated at 230 Volts, carrying a max. 15 amps.  They would work just fine.   Have put many of them on water pumps wired for 220 with no problems.    

  3.   Check at Lowe's or Home Depot, they have loads of them. Just ask the guy in the elect. department to help you. Tell him you want a double pole 220 switch.
