Where do dispose of old exercise equipment & TV?

I live in a smallish flat and I have a few things, like an old mini stepper (that is now destroyed), an old exercise bike and an old TV... Before I head to john lewis to buy new ones I need to be able to get rid of the old, for space reasons etc...

I live in central london (westminister), and though I put my regular household trash out some mornings for pickup at around 11, I don't know how this would work in regards to the exercise equipment and stuff... Will they take it too?

If not where am I supposed to take it?

I don't drive and I cant exactly haul these things on the tube to some junkyard (are there such places in London?) so I need some info...

Thank you!! :)

  1. Put it on e-bay for one penny and to collect, it will be gone in no time.

  2. TV you must re-cycle

Recycling in Westminster is easy. All the information you need to get started is on this website.

If you still have questions, call us on 020 7641 2000 or contact the recycling team.

  3. If you phone you local council and ask for your stuff to be picked up they will usually tell you when to put it out and in some cases they will just let your bin people know that it is booked to go.I`ve done this and there was no charge.Happy shopping.

  4. put all the items on your local freecycle , beleive me people will be glad of these items , if they are damaged make sure you say so , but someone will take them off your hands and keep them out of the landfill .
