Touch a fly agaric toadstool and die.  Well, that's the ancient wisdom passed on down from my long dead father - a mushroom fancier in his spare time.

It's agreat pity that here in UK if we gather fungi from the forests, there is no one around who can advise us as to whether or not what we have gathered is eddible or plain deadly poisonous.

Of the three odd thousand species of fungi growing here in UK, only a few are actually deadly, but there are many which will give a month long gut ache and only poor recovery from same.

So, if you are uncertain about a particular fungi/mushroom and/or toadstool, contact your local michologist (mycologist?)
